Yeungnam University (President CHOI Oe-chool) has secured an 'Outstanding' rating in the Ministry of Employment and Labor's University Job Plus Center Program for eight consecutive years, demonstrating its exceptional career and employment support system. This achievement highlights YU's distinguished career and employment support system, which has played a crucial role in enhancing students' career success.
YU operates a comprehensive career development program that supports students at every stage—from career exploration and planning to skill enhancement and successful employment. Notably, its CDP Coaching Program, which invites CEO-level experts as adjunct professors to mentor students, has become a signature initiative unique to YU. Additionally, the YU Careepedia Mentoring System, which has engaged approximately 10,000 job seekers, enables students to gain practical career insights and guidance from alumni.
Recently, YU has been actively collaborating with Gyeongsangbuk-do and local innovative companies to implement a co-growth job creation project. This initiative has significantly contributed to expanding youth employment opportunities and fostering local talent retention. By establishing a university-region-industry-government-research collaboration model, YU is strengthening its network with leading regional businesses and positioning itself at the forefront of regional employment development.
Since launching the University Job Plus Center (base type) in 2017, YU has maintained its 'Outstanding' rating for eight consecutive years. YU has also demonstrated excellence in government-funded projects from the Ministry of Education, Korea Student Aid Foundation, Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and various local governments, further cementing its expertise in career education and employment support.
President CHOI Oe-chool stated, "This achievement reflects YU's commitment to student-centered education and differentiated employment support services. We will continue to provide unwavering support to empower students to confidently pursue their dreams in an ever-changing job market." He added, "Going forward, YU will leverage its accumulated expertise in career education and employment support to nurture talent who contribute not only to the local community but also to global prosperity."
Building on this success, YU plans to further expand customized region-industry programs, integrate digital skills training, and develop new initiatives to enhance students' employability in an evolving job landscape.
